Helicopter Spirals Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Shoreline
An aircraft soaring near a well-attended southern California shoreline unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, finally losing altitude and smashing into a cluster of palm trees as spectators looked on.
Recordings shared on the internet show the chopper commencing to spiral over the beach then descending near the edge of the shore, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a steps near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Update
Emergency responders said five people were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the accident on that day.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Information on their condition were not immediately available.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
