FBI Expands Washington Attack Investigation
Thursday saw, the FBI searched multiple residences as it expanded its probe into a attack in Washington that happened on the previous day, leaving one National Guard soldier deceased and another in serious condition.
Alleged Shooter's Background and Residence Searched
The search covered a home in Washington state connected to the suspect, Afghan citizen Lakanwal, who officials said was part of a CIA-supported unit in the Afghan theater before coming to the America in 2021 under a relocation scheme.
Agents took possession of numerous electronic devices from the home, such as cellphones, notebook computers, and iPads, and questioned his relatives, the head of the FBI Kash Patel told a press briefing.
National Guard Soldier Beckstrom Passes Away After Shooting
On Thursday evening, the President declared that Sarah Beckstrom, one of the guardsmen attacked in DC, had passed away.
Beckstrom, 20, was one of two members of the guard attacked; the second soldier, Wolfe, 24, is still fighting for his life, as stated by the president.

The suspect, identified as Lakanwal, 29, entered the America in September 2021 under an immigrant program that gave eligible individuals who had served the US government legal entry to the United States.
